From Ghibli to Healthcare: What AI’s Been Up To Lately

Have you already tried asking ChatGPT to create a Ghibli-style portrait? I recently gave it a go with one of my own photos—and the result was surprisingly thoughtful.

As you can see, it didn’t just stop at the dreamy Ghibli vibe. The background featured bitsensing’s tagline, Radar Reimagined, and it even placed a “Marketing” notebook in my hand, picking up on my role in marketing & communications. Compared to the early days when we had to prompt it ten different ways to get something decent, the level of nuance now is honestly impressive. It really makes you realize how far AI has come.
Whether it’s generating visuals, writing emails, or helping shape strategy, AI is already embedded in so much of what we do. In the U.S., 40% of adults today are using generative AI tools regularly—a notable portion integrating AI into daily routines. In workplaces 56% of employees are utilizing AI powered tools and 81% have said that these tools are enhancing productivity. Businesses are also actively integrating AI technology, where 72% are applying AI into at least one of their functions. AI has become the top trend all around and during CES 2025, the core keywords were identified as S.N.A.K.E – SDV, Networking, AI, Kinetic, and Energy.
AI, Artificial Intelligence, is defined as a technology that enables computers and machines to perform tasks that are generally done by humans, including problem solving, decision making, creativity and autonomy. And the capabilities of AI come from machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) to analyze massive amounts of data, estimate patterns, and improve performance. The difference between machine learning and deep learning – in simple words – is that machine learning is where algorithms are applied to learn from data and predict, while deep learning is artificial neural networks with layers used to analyze data and predict, mimicking the human brain.
Today AI has become quicker and more intelligent, to support diverse industries and applications and even our daily lives. For healthcare, AI has become especially important to help understand human patterns and provide an analysis or recommendations for a better lifestyle.

Healthcare and AI’s Role
The healthcare industry is witnessing groundbreaking advancements through AI, particularly in diagnostics, predictive analytics, and real-time monitoring. While traditional medical approaches were often manual and time-consuming, AI has helped to automate these procedures while delivering accurate, real-time, data-driven insights.
Deep learning models are being used for medical imaging and diagnostics, improving the detection of diseases such as cancer through AI-powered radiology scans. Predictive analytics enable early detection of high-risk patients for conditions such as heart disease and diabetes, allowing for timely intervention. Natural language processing (NLP) helps analyze vast amounts of medical literature and electronic health records, reducing diagnostic errors and personalizing treatment plans. The integration of AI with advanced sensor technologies is revolutionizing non-contact health monitoring, providing an entirely new way to track physiological conditions in real time.
The AI-Powered Healthcare Radar by bitsensing
Addressing the limitations in healthcare, bitsensing has introduced the AI-powered radar solution, providing contactless, privacy free monitoring for patients, elderly, and even individuals. Especially when detecting and analyzing sleep, sleep centers use the tradition polysomnography (PSG) tests that require a great number of wires to be attached to the body. Although the PSG test delivers very accurate monitoring and data, it’s often difficult to fall asleep with having multiple wires attached and in a totally new environment, which may influence the data that comes out of the one-time test. bitsensing's healthcare radar solves these issues by providing a complete contactless monitoring environment, allowing individuals to have the optimal sleeping condition.
bitsensing' solution is a 60GHz radar-based, compact device that can detect the slightest movements such as breathing during sleep. Once the radar detects and collects breathing data, an AI algorithm converts the data to analyze sleep time, number of apnea, in-and-out of bedtime, and other indexes to report daily sleep scores and sleep efficiency. And this analysis has already been validated against over 1,000 PSG data, allowing it to provide great accuracy.

How AI Powers bitsensing's Solution
bitsensing uses AI deep learning models to distinguish different sleep stages—Wake, REM, and NREM. A multi-resolution convolutional neural network (CNN) model is used to converts raw radar signals into multiple resolutions, extracting distinct features at each level. By analyzing sleep stage sequences and their distribution, the AI system can assess sleep quality and identify potential health concerns.
Beyond sleep analysis, AI in bitsensing’s radar solutions holds potential for broader healthcare applications. By analyzing respiratory patterns, AI-powered radar can help detect respiratory conditions such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and pneumonia. Additionally, sleep pattern analysis could play a crucial role in monitoring mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). bitsensing continues to enhance its AI capabilities to provide more precise and reliable health monitoring solutions.
The Future of AI-Enabled Healthcare Radar
As AI and radar technology continue to evolve, the possibilities for healthcare applications will expand further. With enhancements in AI-driven predictive analytics, healthcare radar systems may soon be able to provide early warnings for conditions such as respiratory diseases like asthma and COPD, as well as mental health conditions based on sleep pattern analysis, such as depression and anxiety. Additionally, integrating AI-powered radar with IoT-based healthcare platforms will allow for seamless data sharing between patients and healthcare providers, enabling remote health management and personalized treatment plans. bitsensing remains committed to pushing the boundaries of AI-powered radar, ensuring that healthcare technology is not only innovative but also accessible and impactful. With AI at the core, the next generation of medical diagnostics and monitoring is already here, shaping a future where healthcare is smarter, more efficient, and tailored to individual needs.
